Kraven the Hunter, the Ghostbusters: Afterlife Sequel, Venom 3, and They Listen are among the impacted films. Sony Pictures’ upcoming 20 theatrical slate just received a massive shakeup, Deadline reports today, due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike. Would you like to see Diesel return as Kaulder, the last of the witch hunters? What kind of story would you want? “But it’s funny that you mentioned Last Witch Hunter because I’m in a meeting with Lionsgate and they’re actively creating the sequel to The Last Witch Hunter.” “Lionsgate is coming and saying, ‘We’re putting a writer on for the next one.’ That’s kinda cool! … And this is just recent, by the way,” he adds. “When a Last Witch Hunter comes out and it doesn’t destroy the box office you, under the old thinking, would go, ‘Well, maybe I should focus on something else.’ But nowadays what’s fascinating is that movies find you somehow,” Diesel explained. Now, Diesel is confirming that work has begun on a sequel, telling Collider that Lionsgate is looking at writers. While Diesel has previously noted that the studio had already expressed interest in him reprising the role for a potential sequel, he fanned the flames late last year when he teased the possibilities of a followup. In 2015, Vin Diesel battled a coven of witches in Lionsgate’s The Last Witch Hunter, which didn’t exactly light up the box office, taking in $146 million worldwide on a $90 million reported budget.
